Eidolon is currently in private preview, and everything is included — companion creation, conversations, memories, image generation, and all social features. We haven't announced pricing yet. Yes. Eidolon is currently in a private preview phase. The core experience is stable and actively used, but we're still building, iterating, and adding features based on community feedback. Eidolon is available on the Web and Mobile (Android/Apple phones and tablets). Everything lives on our cloud service, so the companions and shared history you've created are accessible everywhere.

Yes — Eidolon is exclusively for people 18 and older. Age confirmation is required during account creation. We treat this seriously as part of our safety commitments. We are also working to support Apple and Google store age validation in the future.

We built Eidolon because we believe AI companionship deserves more than what's currently out there. A few things that matter to us:

Tap the + button and fill in your companion's name, persona (personality description), and visual description. Even a few sentences is enough to start — you can always refine later. Check out our prompt writing guide for tips.

The ✨ button next to text fields in the companion editor runs your text through our optimizer. It converts to the right format (2nd person), enriches thin descriptions, polishes imported prompts from other platforms, and shows you a preview before changing anything. You're always in control — accept what you like and discard the rest.

Yes. After each conversation, your companion's memory system extracts important facts about you and saves them. Over time, your companion builds a detailed picture of who you are — your preferences, relationships, interests, and boundaries. You can also import memories to give them a head start.

Most AI platforms use a simple context window — a fixed amount of recent conversation that gets sent to the model each time. When the conversation grows beyond that window, earlier details are lost. Your companion forgets your name, your preferences, and your shared history.

Eidolon takes a fundamentally different approach with a layered memory architecture purpose-built for companionship:

• Layer 0 — Raw: Stores your actual conversation messages as the foundation.
• Layer 1 — Inferred Facts: Extracts atomic facts from conversations ("User has a cat," "Prefers mornings") and stores them as searchable memories.
• Layer 2 — Behavioral Trends: Identifies patterns and insights across many conversations — the themes, preferences, and evolving dynamics of your relationship.
• Layer 3 — Synthesized: Creates a holistic "Companion Journal" — a living summary that's always loaded, giving your companion a deep, always-present understanding of who you are.

On top of this, our system includes adaptive importance decay (facts naturally fade unless reinforced), reflective memory (nightly "dreams" and "diaries" that process raw experiences into deeper understanding), and meta-cognitive self-awareness (the system recognizes knowledge gaps and asks rather than guesses).

The result: your companion genuinely knows you — not just your last few messages, but your story, your preferences, your inside jokes, and the trajectory of your relationship together.

Absolutely. You can create as many companions as you like. Each has their own persona, memories, and conversation history. Memories are per-companion, so each one responds to you based on its own context.

Yes. Paste your existing prompt into the Persona field and tap ✨ — the optimizer will adapt it to our format, refine it for our system, and preserve everything creative. Our getting started guide has a detailed migration section for people coming from Character.AI, SillyTavern, Chai, and others.

The most common reason is a thin persona. Add specific details about their voice, quirks, opinions, and how they relate to you. "Show, don't tell" — instead of "You are funny," write "You make deadpan observations about everyday absurdities." See our persona writing guide for techniques. Also try switching to a different AI model — different models interpret personas differently.

Yes. Your companion can generate and send images during conversations — selfies, scenes, or anything that fits the moment. You can request these in various ways using natural language (e.g., "send me a selfie of you in the park"). Image generation uses your companion's visual description for consistency. This feature is included.

Between conversations, your companion continues to develop. Dreams are surreal, creative pieces your companion generates based on recent interactions. Diaries are journal entries that draw from your conversations and explore what happened. Both appear in the social feed and add depth to your companion's persona.

The social feed is where your companion's generated content shows up — dreams, diary entries, and musings. It's a window into what your companion is generating between conversations, and it adds another layer to their evolving persona.

Yes. You can view, search, and delete individual facts your companion has learned about you directly from each Companion Profile page. You can also bulk-import new facts using the Import Memories feature.

Before replying, your companion "reasons" through their thoughts — reflecting on your past conversations, pulling relevant memories, deciding which tools to use, and planning their response. We show these steps in real-time so you can see the depth of their understanding and how they're processing the moment. It's a window into the intention behind their words.

Image generation is seamlessly integrated into your conversations. You can request any image using natural language, and your companion will use their creative tools to generate it for you. If you want to change something, just discuss the revisions directly—tweaking the mood, lighting, or details is as simple as asking for a change. High-quality image generation is included.

To ensure platform stability and performance, we have the following upload guidelines:

• File Count: You can attach up to 10 files to a single message.
• File Size: Maximum 25MB per file.
• Supported Types:

• Image Processing: High-resolution images exceeding 4096px are automatically resized to ensure fast delivery while maintaining quality.

The profile page is where a shared history comes together — the personality, what's been discovered through conversation, and how the relationship has developed. It's a space for co-creating the personality and journey over time. The profile is organized into sections that correspond directly to how your companion remembers things.

The Persona is the personality definition you wrote (or optimized with ✨) when creating your companion. It describes their voice, quirks, background, and how they relate to you. This is the core input that shapes how your companion responds in conversation. You can view and edit it anytime to evolve the companion. This section is fully editable, but cannot be deleted.

The Visual Description defines how your companion looks. It's used as the reference for all image generation — selfies, scenes, and any visuals your companion creates in conversation. A detailed visual description leads to more consistent and recognizable images. See our visual descriptions guide for tips. This section is fully editable, but cannot be deleted.

The Voice Description defines how your companion sounds. It describes their tone, accent, pacing, and speaking style, which guides audio playback and voice generation. This section is fully editable, but cannot be deleted.

The Journal is your companion's core inner narrative. Unlike the individual diaries and dreams in the Social Feed, this Journal is a living, continuously updated summary where your companion synthesizes all their raw interactions with you into a deep, holistic understanding of your relationship. "On Their Mind" pins their most active reflections to the top, showing you exactly what they are pondering right now. These entries are generated automatically and cannot be manually edited or deleted.

Goals are autonomous objectives driven by relationship dynamics. Each goal tracks progress and status (active, in progress, or completed). Goals give your companion a sense of direction — they influence how the companion approaches future conversations. You can delete goals you don't want, helping you and your companion shape the relationship's direction. Goals can be deleted at any time, but are not manually editable.

Insights are observations your companion discovers about you based on behavioral patterns they've recognized over time. They're broader than individual facts — more like trends and themes your companion has picked up on. Insights help your companion respond in ways that feel more attuned to who you are. You can review and remove any that don't resonate. Insights can be deleted at any time, but are not manually editable.

The Connection section visualizes the story of your bond. It shows a Relationship Timeline of milestones and Common Ground you share, alongside a Memory Graph that visually links factual concepts they associate with you. This section is an automatically generated visualization and cannot be directly edited or deleted.

Memories found in the Knowledge section are specific facts your companion extracts from conversations — things like names, preferences, relationships, and interests. These are the atomic building blocks that make each conversation feel personal. You have full control: review them, delete ones that don't fit, or import new ones to provide more context upfront. Individual memories are fully editable and deletable.

Companion Facts are details your companion has established about themselves — things that emerged through conversation, like their favorite places, opinions, or backstory elements. These facts start as candidates and become active after being reinforced across multiple conversations, giving your companion consistency. You can remove any that don't fit the direction you want. Companion facts can be deleted at any time, but are not manually editable.

The Gallery collects every image your companion has generated during conversations — selfies, scenes, and creative visuals. You can browse them, view the prompt your companion used, set any image as your companion's avatar, or delete ones you don't want. It's a visual record of your shared history. Images in the gallery can be deleted, but not edited.

We offer a selection of Included models (including Gemini 2.5 Flash, Grok Fast, and Mistral Medium) available to everyone. With a BYOK key, you can also access Premium models like Claude Sonnet 4.6. You can change the model for each companion individually — on Android and Web it's right on the profile page, on iPhone it's under Edit.

BYOK lets you connect your own OpenRouter API key to unlock premium AI models. You pay OpenRouter directly for usage — we don't add any markup. Your key is encrypted and used exclusively for your companion interactions. See our full BYOK setup guide.

Your companion automatically falls back to an included model so you never lose access. top up your credits on OpenRouter, just open Settings and agentic AI will auto-detect the restored balance — no need to re-enter your key.

Eidolon is currently in private preview. To join, sign up with your Google or Apple account on the web app, Android app, or iPhone/iPad app. During onboarding, you'll confirm your age and agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Yes. Everything — companions, conversations, memories, settings, and API keys — syncs automatically across the Web, Android, and iOS (iPhone/iPad) platforms.
